The World Cup is set to kick off in just over a month in North America, and football fans are getting ready to travel to follow their nation or to watch the competition unfold from home.
While fans will be willing to spend their hard-earned money to follow their nation in the World Cup, there have been complaints about the ticket prices from several fan groups due to the high cost to attend matches, particularly when purchasing from the resale site.
Now, FOX are giving a fan the chance to watch every World Cup match for a fee of £50,000, as they are looking to hire an individual to watch all 104 matches across the tournament.
The company announced that it is teaming up with FOX One and Indeed to hire a “FOX One Chief World Cup Watcher Hired Through Indeed,” a temporary role built around the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.

FOX announced it will have the hired fan watching the games live in 4K on FOX One from a custom-built viewing space in Times Square, New York City.

There is more to the role than just sitting watching matches, as the lucky fan would be expected to create and share social content throughout the tournament, showing their reactions as they follow every minute of World Cup action.
Robert Gottlieb, President of Marketing at FOX Sports said: “This FIFA World Cup will be a historic tournament that calls for an equally historic hire.
“One engaged applicant will get the job of a lifetime to experience and celebrate every story, every nation and every exhilarating moment that defines the beautiful game.”
To be able to earn this position, FOX have encouraged applicants to update their Indeed profiles by May 17 should they wish to be considered.
Fans who wish to enhance their application have been encouraged to post a short video on social media explaining why they deserve the role, using the hashtag #ChiefWorldCupWatcher.
The winner will begin the job on June 6, when FOX reveals the hire during its broadcast of the Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees. The role will run through until July 26, which is a week after the World Cup Final.
