Arsenal fans have brought up Erling Haaland's pre-match interview following his non-showing in Manchester City's defeat.

Haaland was unable to make an impression at the Emirates as his side lost 1-0 on Sunday, with Gabriel Martinelli scoring the only goal of the game.

William Saliba produced a monstrous performance at the back as he contained the Norwegian forward, with the defender's compilation from the league fixture making for stunning viewing.

After the result, Arsenal supporters on social media revisited the interview the 23-year-old gave before kick-off as they made their feelings clear.

Speaking to Sky Sports reporter Patrick Davison, the Man City star said he didn't think too much of the problems Arsenal could pose.

His answer appeared to shock Davison, who questioned if that's the right mindset going into a huge showdown.

Arsenal supporters on social media slammed Haaland's 'arrogance' as they didn't hold back.

One X user wrote: "He thought he was going to play against Rob Holding."

A second tweeted: "He deserved this humbling."

A third added: "I think Haaland did this interview the whole game. Didn't see him on pitch."

A fourth said: "Next time he’ll be thinking very much about it."

Another joked: "I really hope he found his way out of Saliba’s pocket at the end of the game."

Haaland, who scored 52 goals in all competitions last season, has eight goals to his name this campaign.

But he hasn't found the back of the net in his last three outings for Man City, having fired blank against Wolves and RB Leipzig in the Champions League.

He will look to get back to his scoring ways when Man City resume their league campaign at home to Brighton following the international break.
