Four Premier League stars 'in danger' of being left out of England's Euro squad

Four Premier League stars 'in danger' of being left out of England's Euro squad

Gareth Southgate is set to announce his provisional Euro 2024 squad on Tuesday afternoon.

Four Premier League big-name players are reportedly facing an anxious wait to find out whether they will be included in England’s provisional Euro 2024 squad.

With Euro 2024 less than a month away, countries involved are starting to name their respective squads for the tournament.

So far, hosts Germany, France and the Netherlands are some of the nations to have selected their squads.

On Tuesday afternoon, England boss Gareth Southgate is set to name his provisional squad ahead of friendlies against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland.

Ahead of the announcement, it has been claimed that four Premier League stars are in danger of being left out of the squad.

As reported by the Daily Mail, Manchester City duo Jack Grealish and Kalvin Phillips, alongside Manchester United star Marcus Rashford and Chelsea forward Raheem Sterling are the players facing an anxious wait.

Grealish has endured a tough season after registering just three goals and three assists in 36 matches across all competitions.

Grealish’s City teammate Phillips was loaned out to West Ham United in January but also failed to impress.

The midfielder was sent off in his second match for the Hammers after receiving two yellow cards in the space of three minutes.

Meanwhile, Red Devils star Rashford has had a below par season as United struggled to a disappointing eighth place finish in the Premier League. The 26-year-old has only managed eight goals and five assists in 42 games.

Lastly, Chelsea man Sterling has been outshined by Cole Palmer at Stamford Bridge despite a respectable return of 10 goals and eight assists.

Palmer, along with the likes of Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka are many England fans preferred choices to support captain Harry Kane in attack.

Aside from the above-mentioned players, the likes of Jarrod Bowen, Anthony Gordon and Eberechi Eze are hopeful they have done enough to secure a place in Southgate’s squad.
