A former England star has claimed that he could run as fast as sprinting legend Usain Bolt.
During what was a stunning career, Bolt managed to win eight Olympic golds. He also won 11 gold medals in the World Championships and one Commonwealth Games gold.
To this day, the Jamaican is still the world record holder in both 100m and 200m, having set the stunning times during his prime years.
Many world-class sprinters, including the likes of Noah Lyles, Christian Coleman, Oblique Seville and Kenny Bednarek have since tried and failed to get close to Bolt's world records.

However, there was one footballer who once claimed that he could run nearly as fast as the legendary athlete and has the time to show for it.

Ex-Arsenal, Everton and England winger Theo Walcott will forever be remembered as one of the quickest players to ever play in the Premier League.
And the former winger recently stated that he ran a time that was close to Bolt's when he was much younger.

Walcott was asked on The Overlap US: "What did you do 100m in?”
He replied: "10.6 (seconds) when I was 15 with awful running style."
In comparison, Bolt's best time as a 14-year-old was 10.57 seconds.
Back in 2015, then-Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger labelled Walcott as the Gunners' fastest player and also explained why sprinters are definitely quicker than footballers.

He said: "I believe that Walcott is our fastest player, and I agree completely that the sprinters are quicker than football players, but it’s different runs.
"You know, a football player runs with football boots on grass, it’s different kinds of runs, it’s not only pure pace."
Wenger continued: "The pace in our job starts with the brain and of course then you put in action what you analysed on the pitch. But pure speed, I am convinced that the sprinters, who are specialists, are quicker than football players."
Currently, the fastest players in the Premier League include the likes of Adama Traore, Micky van de Ven and Jeremie Frimpong.
