Declan Rice Responds to Thomas Tuchel’s Criticism of England Fans

England were in action against Wales at Wembley on Thursday night.

Declan Rice has responded after Thomas Tuchel criticised England fans following the win over Wales.

On Thursday night, the Three Lions welcomed Wales to Wembley for a friendly derby.

In the first half, Tuchel's men were in a rampant mood as goals from Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka made it 3-0.

No further goals were scored in the second half as England came away with a comfortable win.

However, despite a good night's work, Tuchel was far from happy with the England fans who were inside the staidum.

Speaking after the match, the German stated that Wembley 'was silent'.

He said to ITV: "The stadium was silent. Silent. We never got any energy back from the fans, and I think the players delivered a lot to get more from the stands.

"Yeah [expecting more from Wembley]. What more can you give in 20 minutes? Three goals, the way we were going, the way we were attacking Wales and the way we didn't let them escape, even in their own half. Then there was ball win after ball win after ball win."

Tuchel continued: "If you then hear, for half an hour, just Wales fans, it's a bit sad because I think the team deserved big support."

When asked about Tuchel's comments, Rice smiled and said: "Look, it's always difficult. I think in the first half they were brilliant for us when we scored three goals.

"England fans always want to be entertained so when it was probably a bit of a more boring second half, I can understand where they're probably coming from a little bit. The manager just mentioned it inside, so hopefully we can keep winning and exciting the crowd."

Next week, Tuchel's men will be back in action when they take on Latvia in a 2026 World Cup qualifier at the Daugava Stadium in Riga.
