Declan Rice appears to have aimed a brutal dig at Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz on social media.

During the summer transfer window, Premier League champions Liverpool spent over £400 million to bring in players like Isak, Wirtz, Milos Kerkez, Jeremie Frimpong, Giovanni Leoni and Hugo Ekitike.

However, the Reds have endured a drastic dip in form, having lost their last three matches against Crystal Palace, Galatasaray and Chelsea.

The new marquee signings, Wirtz and Isak, have looked miles off the pace as the pair have only managed a combined total of one goal and one assist across all competitions for Liverpool.

Wirtz's only goal of the season so far came when he scored a brilliant free kick for Germany in the previous international break.

On social media over the weekend, a post on Instagram poked fun at Isak and Wirtz.

Posting a funny video of Roy Keane, the caption read: "Haaland on 21 goals in 12 games. Isak and Wirtz combined have 2 goals in 19 games."

Eagle-eyed fans then spotted that Rice liked the post, one said: "Decs liked it too. My g."

Another stated: "Rash like from Declen Rice."

A third fan added: "Oi what’s Dekkers doing here."

Someone else wrote: "No way Rice liked this."

A fifth commented: "What is rice doing here."

However, the apparent 'like' from Rice appears to have been removed.

Speaking last week about his form, Isak said: "I'm working hard to push myself and play my game. Things have been a bit tougher for us. I believe that as the team improves and things start to flow better, it will also go better for me.

"I've been really happy so far. A city where the team has a very good relationship with the fans which is important. It's been nice so far."

He added: "I've had a lot more playing time and things have calmed down. I feel in a much better position now than last time."

Isak and Wirtz will be back in Premier League action for Liverpool this weekend when they take on Manchester United at Anfield.
