Fans Stunned By What Crystal Palace Posted To Announce Jorgen Strand Larsen

Crystal Palace have been extremely busy on transfer deadline and splashed out £48 million on Jorgen Strand Larsen.

Crystal Palace struck gold with their post confirming the club-record capture of Jorgen Strand Larsen on transfer deadline day.

The FA Cup holders have offloaded a number of their key players in recent times, with manager Oliver Glasner frustrated to see sales sanctioned for Eberechi Eze and Marc Guehi, who joined Manchester City in the January window.

But Palace have made a late push to get some business done in the window, bringing in Strand Larsen from Wolves for £48 million - the highest ever fee the Eagles have paid for a player.

The 25-year-old, who scored 14 goals in the Premier League last season, has penned a four-and-a-half-year deal and will wear the No.22 shirt.

Newcastle tried to sign the Norwegian in the summer window and on X, Palace poked fun at the Magpies by posting a clip of Wolves fan 'Dazzling Dave' singing a hilariously created chant about him on a fan channel.

Replying to the clip, one fan said: "To use this as your announcement video is epic!!!".

A second commented: "Tweet of the year, fair play Palace."

A third wrote: "This is going platinum fair play admin."

Strand Larsen is Palace's third recruit in January, following on from the £35 million purchase of Brennan Johnson and loan of Evann Guessand from Aston Villa.

"I'm really excited to come to Crystal Palace," Strand Larsen told the club's official website.

"It's been something I've wanted to do for a long time now.

"I'm here to bring energy and goals, and to try to do my best for the club."

It was thought that Strand Larsen was poised to replace talisman Jean-Philippe Mateta, who looked set to sign for AC Milan. However, the Frenchman's deal has fallen through due to issues with medical and so the two look set to play with one another.

Palace looked likely to complete their transfer business mid-season by signing Dwight McNeil on loan from Everton.

However, the move, set to be a loan with a £20 million obligation to buy at the end of the season, was not done by the time the window finishe.

A deal sheet was submitted to the Premier League but did not materialise.
