A Premier League club that was involved in an infamous incident with Cristiano Ronaldo are monitoring the progress of his son Cristiano Jr.

Cristiano Sr., 40, has five children, with his eldest, Cristiano Jr., 14, reportedly being a talented footballer.

On Tuesday (May 13), the teenager made his debut for Portugal’s Under-15 side, coming off the bench in a 4-1 win against Japan in Croatia.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s son wore the number seven, which is synonymous with Cristiano Sr., gave a brief cameo of his talent at the Vlatko Markovic tournament.

Several clubs were said to be in attendance, with Croatian newspaper Sportske Novosti reporting that Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, RB Leipzig, Hoffenheim, Red Bull Salzburg, Inter Milan, Juventus and Atalanta all sent representatives.

While Manchester United’s Europa League finaal opponents, Tottenham Hotspur, were also present.

Of course, Cristiano Sr. infamously stormed down the Old Trafford tunnel after being benched for a Premier League fixture against Spurs in November 2022 – although he later admitted that he regretted his actions.

“Piers, I will be honest with you, it's something that I regret to leave from the stadium,” Ronaldo said when he spoke to Piers Morgan Uncensored in 2022.

“Probably, or maybe no, I don't know. It's difficult to tell you 100 per cent but let's say I regret, but in the same way I felt provoked by the coach.

“Not allowed for me, a coach to put me in three minutes in a game. Sorry, I'm not that kind of player. I know what I can give to teams.

“Okay, you don't put me against Manchester City because of respect of your career, and you want to put me three minutes against Tottenham. It doesn’t make sense…

“I think he did it on purpose because, for example, in a national team, the other clubs, if the coach wants to put me five minutes, if someone injured or if they really need me, I will help. But in that way, I felt provoked not only because of that game, but before.”

Cristiano Sr. posted on social media after the game to congratulate his son.

He wrote: "Congratulations on your debut for Portugal, son. Very proud of you."
