Chelsea fans have turned on one shock player after their disappointing draw against Everton on Sunday.

On Sunday afternoon, Chelsea had the opportunity to go on top of the Premier League if they could get a win over Everton at Goodison Park,

However, despite boasting 75% of the possession and taking five shots on target, the London club were unable to find the back of the net, leaving the final score at 0-0.

And in the wake of the match, Chelsea fans have all called out one surprise player, saying that he is responsible for them missing out on three points.

Chelsea fans have picked out star player Cole Palmer as the biggest problem in the match, and took to social media to make their feelings about his performance known.

Reacting to his performance in the match, one fan wrote: "Palmer off it , not sure why he wasn’t subbed for Felix. Also the energy was just not there."

Another agreed, adding: "Could’ve sworn the best player in the league was playing against Everton today? Or maybe he’s just not as incredible as you think he is?

"Stop putting Palmer on a pedestal he has no business being on right now."

While one fan made a bold claim, writing: "Cole Palmer has been rubbish all season. Masked by penalties and the odd assist."

And one said: "Palmer ain't the same as he was last season idc if he's still getting G/A, he's no longer performing to that insane level he did last season."

During the 22-year-old's first season at Stamford Bridge, Palmer scored 27 goals and assisted 15 in 48 appearances for his new club.

Meanwhile this season, the Englishman has 11 goals and six assists in his 19 appearances in all competitions so far this season.

The result means that Liverpool, who have a game in hand, have the chance to go four points clear at the top of the Premier League table going into Christmas Day.

The Reds face Tottenham Hotspur in London, as they look to continue their unbeaten record away from home.
