Enzo Maresca has revealed what happened in the Chelsea dressing room after Saturday’s 3-1 home defeat to Brighton.
Enzo Fernandez had fired the Blues ahead midway through the first half but the game swung in Brighton’s favour when Trevoh Chalobah was given his marching orders shortly after the restart.
Danny Welbeck levelled the game in the 77th minute before Maxim De Cuyper and Welbeck, again, struck in second half injury time to cap a miserable afternoon for Maresca’s side.
Chelsea have now lost their last two league matches and have failed to win four of six Premier League games this season.

And it’s now been revealed that the Chelsea owners stormed the home side’s dressing room in the wake of the loss to Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton on Saturday.
According to Matt Law, Chelsea co-controlling owner Behdad Eghbali, sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart, along with Joe Shields and Sam Jewell, all marched to the changing room shortly after full time as the Brighton players and travelling support celebrated a huge win.

However, Maresca has moved to play down the incident, which certainly raised a few eyebrows, stating: “They have been inside the changing-room, like always. We have an office inside the changing-room, where after every game, we sit and we talk about the game.

“But they did not say anything to the players. It was nothing completely different compared to the rest of the games.”

On the defeat itself, Maresca added: “It's a tough one because we were in control of the game, we scored one, and could've scored more, we didn't concede anything.
“They just said to me also in terms of data, we had so many shots in the first half, 70% of possession, everything was fine. And then suddenly, because of our mistake, and then with the red card, again, the plan completely changed.

“So for me we played two games, first-half, and then unfortunately after the red card.”
Chelsea have started the season poorly
While Maresca isn’t under any immediate pressure to be sacked, the start to the season under the Italian has been far from ideal.
Chelsea kicked off their Champions League campaign with a 3-1 loss at Bayern Munich earlier this month and resume European duties in midweek when they welcome Benfica, and former boss Jose Mourinho, to Stamford Bridge.

Even so, since their Club World Cup success in July, Chelsea have won only three of eight competitive matches this season, one of which came at League One side Lincoln in the EFL Cup, and even then, they had to come from behind to book a fourth-round spot, where Maresca’s men will take on Wolves.
