Chelsea fans have slammed two players after their defeat by Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Blues' quest for the FA Cup ended on Saturday night after they were beaten by Brighton at the AMEX Stadium.

An own goal by Bart Verbruggen gave Chelsea the lead inside five minutes, but Brighton quickly hit back through Georginio Rutter.

With 57 minutes on the clock, Japanese superstar Kaoru Mitoma netted the winner to seal a 2-1 win for the Seagulls.

Chelsea fans criticise two players after defeat against Brighton and Hove Albion

Reacting on social media, Chelsea fans were less than happy with the performances put in by Jadon Sancho and Christopher Nkunku.

One fan said: "Sancho’s really disappointing. Become a shell of a player he was. I hope one day he finds it again because don’t wanna see talent like that go to waste."

Another tweeted: "Did Manchester United scam us?"

A third fan added: "Nkuku is just a waste, can’t press can’t do nothing. Sancho can’t even shoot, just running into players."

Someone else wrote: "Just thought about Nkunku and got mad again."

A fifth commented: "I don't want to see Nkunku starting as a 9 again."

Another fan said: "There is no fight in this team, Nkunku has lost the desire to play for Chelsea, Sancho is a waste."

Sancho, who is currently on loan from Manchester United, was brought off in the 74th minute, replaced by Tyrique George. Meanwhile, Nkunku played the full match.

Speaking after the match, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca said: "We are not missing Joao Felix. Joao is happy at Milan and we are happy Joao is happy there.

"We had two striker injuries on deadline day, it is something difficult to think. But Nico Jackson can be back very soon."

Chelsea will take on Brighton again next Friday night at the AMEX as they return to Premier League action.
