Enzo Fernandez is asked for his favourite Chelsea song, gets trolled by fans

Enzo Fernandez is asked for his favourite Chelsea song, gets trolled by fans

Enzo Fernandez was quizzed on his favourite Chelsea song but ended up getting rinsed online.

Enzo Fernandez was asked for his favourite Chelsea chant but his answer has led to him being trolled mercilessly online.

The Argentine joined the Blues for a British-record £107 million in January, penning an eight-and-a-half year contract.

The deal was then extended for another year, up until 2032, after a clause was activated by the two-time Champions League winner.

Fernandez, who played 22 times in his first season, recently took part in an interview with Bleacher Report, discussing life under compatriot Mauricio Pochettino and goals for the new campaign.

But the former Benfica man was also quizzed on his favourite song that Chelsea fans sing and that ended up being the main takeaway from the interview.

He replied: "The one I like the most is 'Come on Chelsea, come on Chelsea'! I love that one, I like it."

The joke, is of course, that Chelsea only have one song and the chant for new signings banter reappears every time they bring in another player.

And predictably the comment caused plenty of reaction online from Chelsea supporters and other fanbases.

One wrote: "Must have been hard a choice between that and ‘Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea’."

A second said: "His 2nd favourite chant… 'Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea… Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea…'"

A third added: "Is this because that’s the only one they have maybe."

A fourth commented: "I genuinely thought this was a P**take when I saw someone tweet it yesterday."

A fifth user joked: "Out of the options he had I think he’s picked a very good one, Chelsea, chelsea, chelsea came in second with no other chant coming in 3rd."

A final user summarised: "Enzo Fernandez has no idea what he’s done here and I’m all for it."

Chelsea start the 2023/24 campaign against Liverpool at Stamford Bridge on 13 August and look to make last season's dismal 12th place finish a distant memory.

Fernandez is full of ambition and believes the team should be targeting to win the Premier League as opposed to just returning to European football.

He explained: "We want to be an aggressive team, a team that attacks and defends well, that goes into every game to win it whoever we're playing against and look to dominate every game we're in.

"And obviously we want to try to win the Premier League, that's our goal this year. As well as that, I think the cups in England start in January, but the main aim this year is to win the Premier League."
