Chelsea superstar Enzo Fernandez has reportedly decided to leave the club this summer in a sensational deal.

The final matches of the 2024/25 Premier League on Sunday, with Chelsea's clash with Nottingham Forest perhaps the most exciting match of the day.

A win in the thrilling clash will significantly boost either side's chances of finishing in the top five and booking their place in the Champions League next season.

However, it appears that before the match even kicks off, Chelsea might need to start looking ahead to next season, as star player Fernandez may have agreed a shock transfer that nobody saw coming.

Despite having seven years left on a Chelsea contract that reportedly sees him earn £180,000 a week, a report has claimed that he is preparing to move to La Liga giants Real Madrid this summer.

According to Spanish journalist Gustavo Mendez, the Argentina international and his girlfriend were spotted looking at properties in the Spanish capital this week.

He claims that Fernandez has already held conversations with Real Madrid about a potential move, and his agreed terms.

It is believed that national teammate Julian Alvarez, who currently plays for Real's local rivals Atletico Madrid, recommended an area to Fernandez that is close to his current address.

However, regardless of Fernandez's desires and any potential agreement with Real Madrid, the 15-time European champions will have to agree a transfer fee with Chelsea before a move can be finalised.

Having joined the Blues from Benfica for a then British-record fee of £106million back in 2023, it's likely that Chelsea will demand a huge fee to facilitate any transfer deal for Fernandez.

And with the 24-year-old under contract with the Premier League side until the summer of 2032, they will be well within their rights to demand this fee.

Reports in January claimed that the La Liga giants initially registered their interest in signing Fernandez in January, but Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca made it clear that he hopes to keep the midfielder at Stamford Bridge for the foreseeable future.

Fernandez has 44 appearances for Chelsea this season and is expected to be involved in both the match against Nottingham Forest and the upcoming Conference League final against Real Betis.
