Chelsea fans think they've worked out what Conor Gallagher said to referee Rob Jones during an angry interaction in their Premier League win over Tottenham.

Chelsea beat rivals Spurs 2-0 at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night to deal a huge blow to the London club's hopes of qualifying for the Champions League next season.

Goals from Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson gave Mauricio Pochettino's side a deserved win.

The result leaves fifth-place Tottenham seven points behind Aston Villa in fourth, with only four games remaining in their season.

Ahead of the match, Chelsea fans made their feelings clear over a potential sale of Gallagher this summer with a huge banner dedicated to the Blues captain.

It came amid reports linking the England international with a move to Tottenham.

For now he remains a key part of Chelsea's squad and was involved in a heated moment with referee Jones during the second half against Spurs.

After a foul was given against him while he attempted to press high up the field, Gallagher turned and shouted at the official in frustration.

Fans shared a clip of the moment on on social media, with one supporter claiming Gallagher "called the ref s***". You can judge for yourself below.

Victory for Chelsea boosts their slim hopes of qualifying for Europe next season.

They are now up to eighth in the Premier League, two points behind Newcastle in seventh and United in sixth.

Gallagher, meanwhile, has previously said he hopes to remain with his boyhood club Chelsea next season.

"Obviously there is another year and a half left of my contract and I absolutely love playing with the manager," he told Sky Sports in February.

"Playing almost every game has been incredible. Last season I was in and out the team and it wasn't this enjoyable.

"I just want to keep playing as much I can for Chelsea, keep trying to improve and try and be successful."
