Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer didn't hold back as he hit out at Jarell Quansah for a brutal tackle during Chelsea's friendly against Bayer Leverkusen.

On Friday evening, Chelsea kicked off for their first pre-season friendly ahead of the start of their Premier League campaign, welcoming Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen to Stamford Bridge.

Following their victory over Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain in the final of the Club World Cup last month, the Blues have enjoyed some time away from the pitch to relax.

However, the downside to this is that they will only have the match against Leverkusen and Sunday's friendly against AC Milan to prepare for their Premier League opener against Crystal Palace.

And it appears that this worry and frustration may be bothering Chelsea star Palmer, after he was spotted snapping at England teammate Quansah early in the match.

After making a move from Liverpool early in the summer transfer window, Quansah started at the back for Leverkusen in the match against his former rivals.

Although he has performed well so far, he received an earful from Palmer early in the match as his clumsy slide tackle took Palmer out and left him on the floor in pain.

Shortly after the challenge, Palmer got up and grabbed his opponent, leading to the pair getting into an argument and shoving each other.

Match referee Stuart Attwell then approached the pair and cautioned Quansah with a yellow card for the reckless challenge.

Heading into half-time, Chelsea hold a 1-0 lead after new signing Estevao Willian scored just 17 minutes into his debut for the club.

Despite agreeing to join Chelsea as part of a £29million deal that was agreed in May 2024, Estevao only officially joined Chelsea this month after he played at the Club World Cup for former club Palmeiras.

The 18-year-old played in all five of the Sao Paulo club's matches in the competition and scored one goal.

It remains to be seen how involved he will be in Chelsea's season this year, but if his performance in the first half of Friday's match is anything to go by, he could be a seriously impressive talent.
