Cole Palmer produced yet another stunning display as he broke two records during Chelsea's match against Tottenham Hotspur.

On Sunday afternoon, Chelsea travelled to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to take on London rivals Spurs in what was billed as a mouth-watering Premier League clash.

Spurs went 2-0 up thanks to goals from Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski but Jadon Sancho made it 2-1 in the 17th minute.

In the second half, Palmer levelled the match from 12 yards after Yves Bissouma fouled Moises Caicedo, who will consider himself lucky to have remained on the pitch.

With 73 minutes on the clock, Enzo Fernandez volleyed home to complete the comeback after some fine play by Palmer on the right-hand side.

The Englishman then made it two goals for himself as he netted his second penalty in the 84th minute to make it 4-2 to Enzo Maresca's team.

After scoring his first spot kick, Palmer broke a Chelsea record which had been held by Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink for 23 years.

As reported by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, who wrote on social media: "Cole Palmer makes Chelsea history with record PL goal contributions (37) in one year!

Since Romano's tweet, Palmer added a goal and an assist to that tally, taking it up to 39.

On the back of his second penalty, Palmer also broke a Premier League record.

Statman Dave wrote on social media: "Cole Palmer has now scored 12/12 penalties he has taken in the Premier League, the most of any player with a 100% record in Premier League history."

Speaking about Palmer on Sky Sports, former Liverpool and England man Jamie Carragher said: "Of course it's a penalty. You could see it happening.

"I said in the first half how naive this Tottenham team are. It's just not working. The decision making from some of these players. Academy players wouldn't do that. What a signing he's been and what a penalty. It's brilliant. He is coolness personified."

Son Heung Min scored in stoppage time to reduce the deficit but Chelsea held on for a vital 4-3 win.

As a result of their victory over Spurs, Chelsea are now in second place in the Premier League table, four points behind leaders Liverpool.
