Cole Palmer has recorded a stat that not even Jude Bellingham can match this term.

On Thursday Palmer scored in the 100th and 101st minute as Chelsea secured a thrilling 4-3 comeback victory over Manchester United.

United were leading after 99 minutes and 17 seconds - the latest a side have led a Premier League match before going on to lose.

The game saw Chelsea strike first through Conor Gallagher before Palmer netted from the spot to double the Blues' lead. However, United turned the game on its head with goals through Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes to go into half-time level.

The second half saw Garnacho convert from Antony’s outstanding pass, at which point it appeared United would leave Stamford Bridge with a crucial three points.

However, Palmer stepped up to equalise from the penalty spot in the 100th minute, before netting a deflected winner 82 seconds later.

The England international has been Chelsea’s talisman this term, with Thursday night’s hat-trick meaning he has been directly involved in 22 league goals across the campaign - more than any other player under the age of 23 from Europe’s big five divisions.

After the game, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino told TNT Sports: "It was amazing. We deserved it, we were the better team. It was a fair result. If you see everything we started the game in control and we made a mistake. We suffered an emotional impact.

"In the second half again we controlled the game again. We suffered in transition. In these situations, we should have been better.

"In the end, it was a fair result. For the connection with the fans, it is an important day. It should be a turning point.

"We kept believing and we kept saying to the players that there were two minutes left and to keep belief that we can score the goal. It was really important for us. A must-win game. We are here to coach. Today football is about entertainment and a spectacle. To score goals and to build some passion.

"The team need to translate to the fans. How we started the game today is exactly what we want - whether it is Man Utd or Burnley.

"I like to score goals but I don't like to concede goals like today. But it is a process."
