Chelsea are reportedly plotting a double swoop for both Victor Osimhen and Ivan Toney as Mauricio Pochettino seeks to improve his attacking options.

The Blues have struggled in front of goal so far this season, having failed to score a single Premier League goal in September.

That is despite the arrivals of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku, with the latter picking up a serious knee injury during pre-season.

That has led to Mauricio Pochettino already looking ahead to the January transfer window, having identified both Osimhen and Toney as potential additions.

That's according to the Guardian, who claim that the Blues are keen to recruit both players this winter.

Osimhen's future at Napoli has been cast into doubt after the Serie A club posted a series of unusual TikTok videos of the Nigerian after he missed a penalty in the club's 0-0 draw with Bologna.

The player's agent, has subsequently released a formal statement about the incident, confirming that they may take legal action against Napoli.

Toney, meanwhile, remains the subject of mass speculation, with the 27-year-old seeking a "new challenge" in 2024 amid interest from London rivals Arsenal.

The Brentford striker hasn't kicked a ball in the Premier League since May after he pleaded guilty to 232 breaches of the Football Association’s rules on betting.

However, the eight-month ban is set to come to an end in January, and Bees boss Thomas Frank admitting that they would be open to a sale after placing an £80 million price tag on the 27-year-old, claim the Evening Standard.

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Pochettino is insistent on playing a larger role in transfer policy during his second transfer window at the club.

"The good thing is the relationship and communication is very good with the sporting directors and owners," Pochettino told reporters.

"When the transfer window was closed I said I need to be more involved now in all the decisions. I have started to work to identify what we need for January."
