Chelsea fans mock their own team with brutal chant despite winning against Aston Villa

Chelsea are in the fifth round of the FA Cup after beating Aston Villa.

Chelsea fans delivered a brutal chant which mocked their own team during their FA Cup clash against Aston Villa.

After drawing 0-0 at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea and Villa had to battle it out at Villa Park for a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Mauricio Pochettino’s team came into the match as underdogs after their recent poor performances against Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

However, the Blues made a stunning start to the match as they raced to a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Conor Gallagher and Nicolas Jackson.

In the second half, Enzo Fernandez scored a wonderful free-kick to make it 3-0 before Moussa Diaby scored a late consolation goal for Unai Emery’s men.

After getting off to the perfect start, the travelling fans delivered a brutal chant directed at Villa, but it also mocked their own team.

The fans were heard chanting: “How s*** must you be, we’re winning away!”

Before kick-off, Pochettino was involved in an awkward exchange with ITV reporter Gabriel Clarke.

After being asked about Thiago Silva’s omission, the Chelsea boss said: “Why the question? I am professional. I understand the question. I want to be calm. I always pick my players based on performance and balance. That’s it.”

Clarke then said: “It's about that and nothing else?” To which Pochettino simply said: “My answer is clear, no?”

Silva has been making headlines after his wife’s cryptic social media message on the back of Chelsea’s 4-2 defeat against Wolves.

The Brazilian defender’s wife appeared to demand Pochettino be sacked after she wrote: “It's time to change. If you wait any longer it will be too late.”

Mrs Silva has since retracted her comments and issued an apology.

After beating Villa, Chelsea will face Leeds United at Stamford Bridge in the next round of the FA Cup.
