Chelsea fans spot what Enzo Fernandez did to Mason Mount moments after dramatic win over Man Utd

Mason Mount made his return to Stamford Bridge after leaving Chelsea for Manchester United.

Chelsea fans have spotted what Enzo Fernandez did to Mason Mount on the back of the Blues’ late win against Manchester United.

It was a dramatic night at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea blew a 2-0 lead before coming back from 3-2 down to win 4-3 against the Red Devils.

Thursday night’s encounter was also the first time Mount returned to his former home after he left Chelsea to join United during the summer transfer window.

A large majority of Chelsea fans were left unimpressed by the manner Mount left the club and the 25-year-old was given a hostile reception when he was brought on for Alejandro Garnacho in the 86th minute.

After the match, fans spotted Fernandez approaching Mount and appearing to beat the badge on his Chelsea shirt before the pair exchanged words near the centre circle.

Reacting on social media, one fan said: “That is interesting, because Enzo was there last season in the changing room with Mount he might know more behind-the-scenes what happened, which makes that interaction more interesting.”

Another tweeted: “It's like the Mount betrayal pained Enzo more.”

A third fan added: “It's crazy considering the fact that Mount and Enzo were teammates at some point.”

Someone else wrote: “What we love to see.”

A fifth commented: “Get him a statues in front of the bridge now…..”

Prior to the match, United boss Erik ten Hag spoke about Mount’s move to the club.

He said: “I don't think Chelsea wanted to sell him. They wanted to keep him and offered him a new contract many times. But he wanted to make this step.

“He's a fantastic football player. It's important first that he's getting and keeping fit. You see it now with Licha (Martinez), you want to avoid that.”

Ten Hag added: “So you have to do it very carefully. We want to use him so he can have benefit and have a contribution to the team, as he did on Saturday.”

United are next in Premier League action on Sunday as they welcome fierce rivals and title-chasing Liverpool to Old Trafford.
