TNT Sports has announced a new streaming home for its coverage in the UK and Ireland, with the major broadcasting change happening next month. So, what do existing customers need to know?

On Friday afternoon, the official TNT Sports account on X, formerly Twitter, announced some "big news".

"From Thursday 26 March, HBO Max will be the new streaming home of TNT Sports in the UK," they added. It was a post that brought plenty of questions. Are they putting the prices up? Will anything else change?

Firstly, the TNT Sports package on HBO Max will cost £30.99 per month, which is no change to the price of streaming its channels on Discovery+.

Secondly, if you are an existing customer, you will need to download the HBO Max app, or go to HBOMax.com and sign in using your existing discovery+ login details, from March 26.

In a statement, TNT Sports said: "The service will offer subscribers a standalone TNT Sports plan or ability to purchase alongside select HBO Max plans, providing fans with the ultimate sports streaming experience that includes innovative in-app features across key sports and events - putting fans in control of how they watch."

HBO Max claim that they offer the "ultimate mix" of best-in-class series, movies, extraordinary real-life stories and live sport.

As well as streaming Premier League football, HBO Max will broadcast the FA Cup, Champions League and Europa League, as well as Gallagher PREM Rugby, Premiership Women’s Rugby, UFC, MotoGP and tennis.

Sky Sports to broadcast major European competitions for first time in 10 years

On the subject of broadcasting, Sky announced a new four-year partnership with UEFA to exclusively broadcast every match from the Europa League and Conference League in the UK from 2027-28.

Since the end of the 2014-15 campaign, Sky have not broadcast any European games after losing the Champions League rights to BT Sport, now known as TNT Sports.

But from 2027 to 2031, all 342 games across the Europa League and Conference League will be shown across their channels in the UK.

Jonathan Licht, who is Sky's chief sports officer, said: “I’m proud that we’re able to bring European football competitions back to Sky customers."

He continued: "The UEFA Europa League and Conference League have delivered some of the most exciting European stories in recent years, with English clubs consistently performing strongly and lifting trophies.

“This partnership is made possible by the strength of our business model and brand as the home of sport in the UK," added Licht. "Alongside the Premier League, EFL, SPFL, WSL and more, fans will now regularly enjoy domestic or European football every day of the week during the season on Sky Sports.”
