Micah Richards was called out by fellow pundit Thierry Henry for 'having something in his mouth' while on media duties – and it left the CBS Sports studio in stitches.

The former Manchester City defender, a regular on the American TV network channel, was at the Gewiss Stadium on Tuesday night for Atalanta's much-anticipated clash against Real Madrid.

Thierry Henry, Jamie Carragher, Clint Dempsey and Kate Scott, meanwhile, were in the studio to give their analysis of the sixth round of the Champions League league phase.

Madrid would go on to secure a much-needed three points with a 3-2 victory and after the full-time whistle, Richards made a promise to goalscorer Jude Bellingham, despite Alessandro Del Piero begging him not to go through with it.

In fact, as he stood next to Del Piero in the media area on Tuesday night, Richards was confronted by Henry, who asked: "What do you have in your mouth?". You can see that moment below.

To his credit, Richards took the joke well. "I didn't have you down as a snitch Thierry!" he laughed.

Last month, the former England international was banned from taking part in a CBS Sports segment during their live coverage of the Champions League.

At the Estadio Olimpico Lluis Companys, Barcelona welcomed Ligue 1 side Brest, who have made a surprising start to the campaign as they currently sit fifth in the table.

And prior to kick off, CBS presenter Kate Scott jokingly banned Richards from taking part in a segment which revolved around Brest and their impressive run of form.

She said: "We are going to do a segment about Brest but unfortunately we do feel that you have consistently proven that you can't stay professional in these segments where we are talking about Brest.

"We would just like to ask if you will be comfortable with staying silent whilst we do this segment. We think it's for the best."

Richards responded to Scott: "Come on Kate, I can do this!" to which Scott replied: "We really think it is for the best. Not a word, just silence, invincible, no laugh, is that okay? Can we agree?"

When Richards asked: "You can't trust me?", Scott said: "We can't, experience has taught us not to trust you in this area. Sorry."

The segment continued with a few jokes at the expense of the French team, which left the likes of Thierry Henry and Jamie Carragher in laughter. In fact, one of the jokes included Scott asking: "Who likes Brest?"

After both Henry and Carragher put their hands up, the former Liverpool defender said: "I like the shape of them." Which left Richards trying not to burst out laughing as the camera panned to the former Manchester City defender.
