Manchester United fans have slammed Mark Goldbridge after what he said about an Arsenal player following their 7-1 win over PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League.

The Gunners put on a show in Eindhoven with seven goals from just eight shots on target to all but secure progression to the quarter-finals.

Martin Odegaard scored twice in the second half, while there were also goals from Jurrien Timber, Ethan Nwaneri, Mikel Merino, Leandro Trossard and Riccardo Calafiori.

It was a major return to form for Arsenal's attacking ranks after they failed to score in their past two Premier League matches against Nottingham Forest and West Ham.

But some Manchester United fans - already less than happy about the huge win recorded by their rivals - became even less so after seeing what The United Stand presenter Goldbridge wrote about one Gunners player.

He said: "But apparently Odegaard ain't it lol! I'd take him at United every day of the week."

In response, one fan wrote: "No disrespect, Mark, but he's had a handful of great performances of all season. I still feel he needs to create a lot more than he has done this season."

A second added: "Fernandes is insanely clear and that's the truth. Odegaard would be next to useless at United."

A third asked: "What about Bruno?!"

And a fourth boldly claimed: "He consistently hasn't turned up in big games for Arsenal, good player but definitely not the whole package."

Speaking after the Gunners' 7-1 win in Eindhoven, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta described his team as 'phenomenal' and picked out several players for praise.

"We talked about stepping up to the occasion, and when it comes to this moment, you have to elevate your level.

"You really have to play with a lot of initiative. And when we talk about initiative, getting players in the positions that players are in, a full-back putting an assist for Myles [Lewis-Skelly], Jurrien scoring a goal, Calafiori making a run and scoring with the right foot.

"That's the team we want to see, and they're a phenomenal team."
