PSG's lavish spending on the likes of Neymar and Mbappe was purely with the hope of winning Europe's biggest prize, so the potential for the 25-year-old to be able to fulfill the club's ambition in his last game would be a great story.
Mbappe doesn't have to look to the final to create history, as he has the opportunity to join a very exclusive club which just eight players have managed.
