England internationals make up the top two in the Champions League player ratings charts, as FutMob data has revealed the best players in the competition this season.

Fotmob generates match ratings by analysing every statistic during the game and awards every player on the pitch a rating out of 10.

The Premier League sides have struggled more than perhaps many would have expected, with Manchester United and Newcastle needing close to a miracle to progress to the next round.

However, Manchester City have been flying in the Champions League this season, winning every game so far and qualifying for the knockout stages comfortably.

City aren't the only English team on form in the competition though, as Arsenal also cruised their way out of Group B with an emphatic 6-0 win against Lens to secure their progress.

The Premier League teams finished first and second in the league last season, and have players who occupy second and third regarding performance in the UCL this season.

However, it might not be the players you would usually expect as Erling Haaland is not even in the top 10 despite an average rating of 8.10.

From the Manchester City camp, it's Phil Foden who sits in second place with an average rating of 8.51, while Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli sits in third with a rating of 8.29.

Foden has three goals and two assists so far in the Champions League, bagging a goal and an assist in City's comeback win against RB Leipzig.

Martinelli on the other hand has only played three times in the competition but has grabbed two goals and one assist so far, with two of his three matches coming against Sevilla.

It's another England international who tops this list, with Jude Bellingham claiming the top spot with an identical rating to Phil Foden with an 8.51 out of a possible 10.

The Real Madrid star is placed above his international teammate in the rankings due to his better G/A return in the competition, with a staggering four goals and two assists in just four games.

The full list reads as follows...

  1. Jude Bellingham - 8.51
  2. Phil Foden - 8.51
  3. Gabriel Martinelli - 8.29
  4. Rodri - 8.27
  5. Kevin Kampl - 8.27
  6. Gabriel Jesus - 8.24
  7. Bukayo Saka - 8.19
  8. Vinicius Junior - 8.16
  9. Mikel Merino - 8.12
  10. Joao Cancelo - 8.12

Interestingly, Joao Cancelo sneaks in to the top ten after a successful start to his Barcelona loan.

The Portuguese international is still on Manchester City's books and has a contract until 2027 at the Premier League champions.
