Fans hailed one Arsenal player following his showing against Real Madrid in the Champions League.

Fans think 'it's time for a conversation' about ONE Arsenal player following his sensational performance against Real Madrid.

Arsenal beat Real 5-1 on aggregate to book their spot in the Champions League semi-finals, setting up a blockbuster tie against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Gunners secured a 2-1 victory in Wednesday's second-leg at the Bernabeu.

Bukayo Saka, who fluffed his lines from the spot in the first-half, opened the scoring in the 65th minute, with Vinicius Jr equalising on the night. Gabriel Martinelli grabbed the winner in stoppage time.

Arsenal's stunning 3-0 victory in last week's first-leg proved too much to overturn for the holders, who bow out of the competition.

Declan Rice scored not one but two outrageous free-kicks in his side's victory and he followed that up with a commanding showing in Spain.

The England international delivered a stellar outing in the middle of the park, with fans on social media hailing him as the best midfielder in the world.

One X user wrote: "Declan Rice is the best Midfielder in the world and I'm tired of pretending he's not."

A second tweeted: "Declan Rice is a complete package man. His workrate is so underrated. He is a machine."

A third added: "The whole 'Declan Rice, we got him half price' is no joke. He’s one of the best in the world."

Another commented: "Declan Rice has been BY FAR the best midfielder across these two legs."

On TNT Sports commentary, Rio Ferdinand said: "Declan Rice has been the best midfielder over the two games. By bit of a way. He looks so accomplished."

Ex-Arsenal defender Matthew Upson lauded his old side's signing of Rice, who cost a club-record £105 million.

On BBC Radio 5 Live, he said: "How fit does Declan Rice look? He plays every game to such a high level.

"He's been such a top signing for Arsenal."
