A video in the immediate aftermath of the shocking full-time scenes at the Old Firm derby shows how Celtic players reacted to heckling Rangers fans.

Celtic beat Rangers 4-2 on penalties to advance to the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Tomas Cvancara's winning penalty prompted wild scenes from the Broomloan Road stand, which was housing 7,500 Celtic supporters.

Sunday's Scottish Cup quarter-final tie had allowed the visitors to be given a full stand for the first time since 2018.

But the showdown was marred by fans from both teams spilling onto the pitch following the conclusion of the Old Firm.

Fans clashed on the pitch as police intervened, with Rangers and Celtic players leaving the field in chaotic scenes.

Now, a video taken next to the tunnel shows Rangers fans hurling abuse at Celtic players as they returned to the away dressing room.

Julian Araujo responded by sticking his tongue out as Joel Mvuka laughed at his antics.

Cvancara and a member of staff also engaged as they pumped their fists towards supporters on the other side.

A number of arrests were made as Police Scotland called the full-time scenes 'despicable' and 'shameful'.

Speaking after his side's win, Celtic boss Martin O'Neil shared his thoughts on what unfolded following the game.

"Obviously, the fans spilled over. I suppose it’s very difficult to quell that if that’s the case, I don’t know," he said.

"I think as we were making our way back, I think there was some sort of fracas; somebody tried to get on the field."

O'Neil added: "I don’t know, all I saw was there was a bit of a scrum down at the bottom.

"And as you say, maybe it does taint proceedings - but I think there’s an element of self-protection in that one.

"Please, I’m making judgments here on things that I only half saw.

"For me, from a distance, I’ve been saying that the fixture itself is still a phenomenal fixture. There’s no question about that.

"It had lost a bit of its lustre because the away fans, the full complement of away fans, weren’t allowed in.

"And I have no idea what might happen.

"I think today with the crowd, with our crowd there, I thought it was really a proper Old Firm game in that sense. But we’ll see what develops.

"That’s not for me to make a judgment on the allocation. Certainly not only 20 minutes after the game is over.

"So I don’t know that. If it is, if that’s the case, that’s a concern."
