A winger is a crucial part of a team's attacking set-up, but who are the best left-sided forwards in world football?

Well, SPORTbible had a go at ranking the top 10 left wingers in the world right now.

Check out the top ten below:

10 - Marcus Rashford

Rashford somewhat resurrected his career at Aston Villa last season following a few difficult years at Manchester United. He starred in Villa's Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain as Unai Emery's side almost pulled off a sensational comeback.

He has an undeniable skillset, with everyone at Barcelona seeing a glimpse of what he can offer after his first showings for the club in pre-season.

9 - Anthony Gordon

Gordon has fulfilled his early potential after coming through the ranks at Everton and has since emerged as one of Eddie Howe's most important players at Newcastle United following his transfer in January 2023.

He is regarded as one of the best wingers in the Premier League with his running power and direct-attacking style.

8 - Rafael Leao

Known for his dribbling and pace, Leao has earned a reputation as one of the best left wingers in world football.

When he is firing on all cylinders, the AC Milan star is a terrifying prospect.

7 - Luis Diaz

Diaz helped Liverpool win the Premier League last season as he bamboozled defenders on the left-wing.

He has since earned himself a move to Bayern Munich, who will be hoping the Colombian can replicate his showings in the Premier League into the Bundesliga.

6 - Cody Gakpo

Arne Slot's appointment at Liverpool exploded Gakpo into life at Liverpool as he thrived under the tutelage of his fellow countryman.

He became a key figure at Anfield last season, scoring crucial goals at important times from the left flank.

5 - Bradley Barcola

Still only 22, Barcola is highly thought of by Luis Enrique, who has a budding superstar on his hands.

The exciting French talent is known for his dribbling and speed.

4 - Nico Williams

Williams has caught the attention of Europe's elite over the years in Spain with Athletic Bilbao and the 23-year-old enhanced his budding reputation with his performances at last summer's Euro 2024, where he helped Spain to glory.

Barca failed to sign him this summer as he has Europe's best putting him on their radar.

3 - Raphinha

Raphinha showed what he can offer in the Premier League when Leeds United lured him away from France.

His performances in England alerted Barca, who splashed out £50 million to add him to their squad and he hasn't disappointed. The Brazil star has been extremely influential on the left-hand side and is not only one of the club's best players but also a senior figure within the dressing room.

2 - Vinicius Jr.

Real Madrid recruited Vinicius Jr. as a teenager, with the star player taking his time to settle in Spain before establishing himself as one of the best wingers in world football.

After his breakout campaign in the 2021/22 season, the Brazilian has been a consistent performer, weighing in with goals and assists.

Kvaratskhelia inspired PSG to four trophies last season with his electric displays on the wing.

He moved to the Paris-based side last January and the club's decision to sign him midway through the 2024/25 season paid off following his performances in France's top flight and Europe.
