Bayer Leverkusen star Jeremie Frimpong produced one of the most charismatic interviews of all time after his side reached the Europa League final - and it's an incredible watch.

Leverkusen drew 2-2 Roma at the BayArena on Thursday night to win 4-2 on aggregate, and extend their unbeaten run in all European competitions to a record-breaking 49 games.

The German side went 2-0 down to Daniele De Rossi's side, but produced a third consecutive two-goal comeback to preserve their unbeaten record.

And Josip Stanisic's 97th-minute equaliser, which saw him race forward from right-back, cut inside and calmly slot the ball beyond Roma goalkeeper Mile Svilar, caused the BayArena to erupt.

It has been some journey to the top for the 23-year-old, who graduated from the Manchester City academy before opting to leave the club in search of first team football.

He found that at Scottish giants Celtic, impressing there over nearly 18 months before joining Leverkusen in January 2021.

The wing-back has played his best football under the management of Xabi Alonso - and his post-match interview with TNT Sports' Matt Smith after the Roma draw is a brilliant listen.

He began: "We did it again. I love this one - I think this one is the best so far.

"As you can see on the pitch, you can see how intense it is. It's the best feeling.

"We had to dig so deep, it was such a difficult match, you know. Semi-final of the Europa League against a top team. We just did everything great.

"The two penalties [for Roma, which they scored], I don't understand, but it is what it is. We were the better team, so the better team won."

"Nothing was going in [for us]," he continued. "I had a big chance as well. But this season, we've just been phenomenal, and you can't count us out, not even for a second. We deserved this win, and we backed it up.

"It's the best feeling." 😊

"It's just the team bond we have. No-one gives up, everybody knows if we go down, we'll get a goal. We have this type of feeling on the pitch.

"We were 2-0 down. Okay, cool, we scored 2-1 and we're going through. But we still wanted more. Do you get what I'm saying? It's unbelievable, man."

When told about Leverkusen's new European record of 49 unbeaten games, Frimpong smiled before asking: "Really? Wow.

"It's an amazing feeling, especially to beat Roma. They were talking a lot you know, so I'm happy we beat them."
