A compilation of specific errors made by William Saliba has gone viral online after Arsenal's Carabao Cup exit.

On Wednesday evening, Arsenal were knocked out of the Carabao Cup following a 2-0 loss in the second leg of their semi-final match with Newcastle United.

The Gunners faced an uphill battle going into the match, having also lost the home leg in January 2-0, but failed to impress as they struggled under the hostile atmosphere at St James' Park.

In particular, it was Arsenal's defence that has received criticism in the wake of the match, leading to a compilation of star player Saliba going viral on social media.

Immediately after the result on Wednesday, a Liverpool fan took to social media platform X to share a two minute long compilation of Saliba losing aerial duels in matches throughout recent seasons.

Throughout the compilation, Saliba can be seen attempting to get the ball in the air against several teams, from Manchester City to Sheffield United, with the Frenchman losing out to the likes of Erling Haaland, Rasmus Hojlund and Luis Diaz.

Reacting to the video, one Arsenal fan wrote: "Saliba nowadays hmmm.. might need to start an uncomfortable conversation."

While another reacting to his performance in the Carabao Cup clash with Newcastle wrote: "One of the worst Saliba performances I’ve ever seen. I might cry."

And another added: "Hands down the worst game I have ever seen Saliba play. Pressure can make anyone look like this."

Throughout the semi-final match, Saliba struggled to keep up with Newcastle star Alexander Isak, who was linked with a move to Arsenal throughout the January transfer window.

The Swedish striker netted in the first leg last month and once again scored early on Wednesday, only to see it disallowed due to him being offside.

"It’s all about Isak," said Gary Neville during commentary for Wednesday's match.

"He is messing the Arsenal centre backs about.

"Look at him against Saliba, he (Saliba) thinks he has got in front and he pops it round the corner. What a strike it is, and a piece of good fortune because the pass isn’t into him and it then falls to Murphy. But he has Gabriel and Saliba on toast.

"I have never seen Saliba so ruffled ever. Gordon and Isak are in his head."
