Arsenal transfer target spotted in airport ahead of completing move as Mikel Arteta gets huge boost

A major boost for Arsenal.

Arsenal look set to receive a major boost for their pre-season tour in Singapore as fans spotted an unconfirmed signing in Heathrow airport on Tuesday.

It's been a difficult start to the transfer window for Arsenal despite finally securing the signing of Spanish international Martin Zubimendi early in the window.

The Gunners have also confirmed the signing of Noni Madueke from Chelsea, but are still yet to finalise a deal for priority target Viktor Gyokeres.

The Sporting star has his heart set on a move to The Emirates, but add-ons and bonuses are preventing the club from striking a deal with the Portuguese club.

However, it's not all bad news on the transfer front with incoming signing Christian Mosquera looking set to join Mikel Arteta in Singapore.

Mosquera is yet to be announced by Arsenal, but his arrival is all but confirmed after an unfortunate leaked image.

On image site Getty, fans noticed that pictures of the defender were uploaded alongside snaps of Madueke doing his mandatory interviews, before being quickly taken down.

The 21-year-old was pictured smiling in Arsenal's training kit while speaking to a member of the club's media team.

The Spaniard is expected to join his new teammates in Singapore and has now been spotted in Heathrow airport.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal will pay Valencia a €15m fee plus add-ons, with the total package expected to be under €20m.

Despite reports from The Athletic claiming Mosquera will be heading to Singapore, it is unknown whether his sighting at Heathrow was to make the long-haul trip, or simply to make a pitstop in Valencia.

Mikel Arteta on new signings

Speaking for the first time since returning to pre-season, Arteta was asked about his side's business so far and any upcoming deals.

"I'm very pleased. That's all I'll say," he said.

"There are a lot of parties and things that we have to bear in mind to get a player over the line and here. I'm very hopeful that we are going to do it very soon."

He added: "We are constantly looking in the market. Until that happens, focus on the players we have and focus on them and I'm very pleased with what I have seen in the last 10-15 days."
