Thierry Henry names the two Premier League players he most wishes he played with including Chelsea legend

The Arsenal legend played with a host a talent for clubs and his country throughout his career.

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has named two fellow Premier League strikers he wished he could have played with in the English top flight during his appearance on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football.

Henry is widely heralded as the greatest centre forward to have played in the Premier League era thanks to his exploits with Arsenal and was crowned with that honour by fellow pundit Jamie Carragher after ranking the best-ever strikers in the division during an impressive punditry appearance.

He moved to the Gunners in 1999 for a reported £11 million from Italian side Juventus and went on to break all sorts of records.

During his first stint at the North London club, Henry netted 226 goals in 370 games across all competitions, winning two Premier League titles and the FA Cup twice as he became Arsenal's all-time top scorer.

Henry moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2007 for €24 million, going on to win two La Liga titles and the 2009 Champions League crown.

Henry moved to MLS side New York Red Bulls in 2010 but rejoined Arsenal for a second spell on a two-month loan deal in 2012, scoring two more goals in seven appearances.

For France, Henry scored 51 goals in 123 caps for Les Bleus, being part of the squads which won the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championships.

Throughout his club career for the likes of Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal, Barcelona and the New York Red Bulls and for his country, Henry rubbed shoulders with some of the greatest centre forwards in football history.

And the striker has named two strikers he wished he played alongside for the same team in the Premier League.

That duo is Chelsea legend Didier Drogba and former Gunners, Chelsea and Bolton striker Nicolas Anelka.

Drogba is a Stamford Bridge legend thanks to his two stints with the club and scoring more than 160 goals for Chelsea, winning four Premier League titles and the Champions League crown in 2012 with the London side.

Henry did play with Anelka for France but did not line up with him at club level, as the former arrived at Arsenal the same summer the latter left to join Real Madrid.

But Henry explained why he would have loved to have played with both Drogba and Anelka in the Premier League above anybody else.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Henry said: "You have two players who I would have loved to play with in the Premier League. Him [Drogba] and Anelka.

"I would have loved to play with Anelka up front and him. I think both of us up front, problem, big problem.

"I saw him [Drogba] the other day and we were actually talking about it. We sat down at the airport and I went “can you believe if we played both of us together?”

"He didn’t like to go too much out of that area and I was more of a mover, a bit everywhere. It would have been a bit of a problem.

"Let’s not forget Anelka was a problem as well, I would have loved to play with Nicolas."
