Arsenal created an impressive piece of history that may never be repeated after a 2-0 victory over Brighton in the Carabao Cup.

Mikel Arteta's side continued their excellent start to the season on Wednesday night to reach the quarter-finals, where they will host Crystal Palace.

Ethan Nwaneri broke the deadlock after 57 minutes with a composed left-footed finish, before Bukayo Saka added a second 14 minutes from time to seal the win.

Arsenal have made an impressive start across all competitions, winning all three of their Champions League group games, and sitting four points clear at the top of the Premier League.

October has been a particularly impressive month for Arteta's side, who have won six matches in all competitions.

Remarkably, they have done so without conceding a goal, becoming the first top-flight English team to achieve that feat.

The last time Arsenal conceded was September 28, when they came from behind to defeat Newcastle United 2-1.

Who have Arsenal played during their record run?

Arsenal began the month with back-to-back home victories, defeating Olympiacos 2-0 before beating West Ham by the same scoreline.

After the international break, the Gunners edged past Fulham 1-0 thanks to Leandro Trossard.

Their most dominant display came against Atletico Madrid, as they scored four goals in 13 second half minutes, while new signing Viktor Gyokeres ended a seven-game goal drought.

Last weekend, Arsenal saw off Crystal Palace 1-0, as Eberechi Eze scored his first goal for the Gunners against his former club.

And Wednesday's comfortable victory over Brighton made it six games, six victories, and no goals conceded for Arteta's side.

What can Arsenal achieve this season?

It feels increasingly likely Arteta will win his first major trophy since winning the FA Cup in 2020.

After three second-placed finishes, Arsenal finally look ready to go one better and win the league title.

With reigning champions Liverpool struggling, Manchester City once again appear to be their main title rivals.

Despite Erling Haaland's brilliance, Pep Guardiola's side are not at the level as when they beat Arsenal to the title in the 2023/24 season.

Supporters will also be optimistic about Arsenal's prospects in the cup competitions.

Last season, they reached the Champions League semi finals for the first time since 2009, losing to eventual winners PSG.

In the Carabao Cup they were knocked out at the same stage by Newcastle United, while their FA Cup campaign ended in the third round after a penalty shootout defeat to Manchester United.

But if Arsenal's defence remains as strong as it has been throughout October, Arteta's side could end the season with multiple trophies.
