Arsenal fans have taken to social media to praise the performance of one player after their 3-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

Following a two week break for the conclusion of the Nations League, the Premier League returned on Saturday with teams like Chelsea, Aston Villa and Manchester City all in action.

After dropping points for three League games in a row, Arsenal got their season back on track with a 3-0 win over a high-flying Nottingham Forest side at the Emirates Stadium.

And in the wake of the impressive result for the Gunners, fans have taken to social media to compliment one player for their performance in the match.

After goals from Bukayo Saka and Thomas Partey, 17-year-old Ethan Nwaneri became Arsenal's youngest Premier League goalscorer since Cesc Fabregas in 2004.

The youngster came off the bench in the 82nd minute of the match and quickly found the back of the net just four minutes later after being set up by Raheem Sterling.

Reacting to his Nwaneri's performance on X, one fan wrote: "Remember the the name Ethan Nwaneri 17 yrs what a star in the making."

Another agreed adding: "Told y’all Ethan Nwaneri is ready .. that boy has the confidence and the talent .. he’s not scared of anybody or situation"

While another noted: "Ethan Nwaneri has more EPL goals than Phil Foden and Savinho combined."

And one fan made a bold claim when comparing the youngster to Chelsea superstar Cole Palmer, writing: "What does Palmer have over Nwaneri apart from minutes?

"The talent gap isn’t that big. Give Ethan the same chances, and he’ll shine just as bright."

Nwaneri's goal against Forest is his fourth for the London club this season, having scored one against Preston North End and two against Bolton Wanderers during Arsenal's campaign in the Carabao Cup.

In total, the midfielder has made nine appearances across all competitions this season, having made his senior debut for Arsenal last season.

His goal helps Arsenal steady the ship and get their Premier League season back on track as they hope to challenge for the title for the third successive year.
