Arsenal star Gabriel Magalhaes reacted in brilliant fashion after being told his second goal was an own goal in his side's 5-0 win over Crystal Palace.

The Brazil centre-back opened the scoring for the Gunners at the Emirates Stadium, leaping over Palace defender Chris Richards to power a bullet header beyond Dean Henderson.

It was Gabriel's second goal in four Premier League games, proving his worth as an effective set piece weapon for Mikel Arteta's side.

The defender then surprisingly scored Arsenal's second goal on 27 minutes - although in slightly fortuitous circumstances.

His header, which looked to be going towards goal, hit the head of Henderson before nestling into the back of the net.

The Dubious Goals Committee eventually awarded it as an own goal by the Palace goalkeeper - meaning Gabriel missed out on an elusive double.

And when informed of that fact by interviewer Jules Breach on TNT Sports, the Brazilian (just about) managed to stop himself from swearing live on-air.

He exclaimed: "Oh f.. yeah, but I'm still so happy to score two goals today and help the team."

"We will try our best and keep going because we know our potential."

He was stood alongside team-mate Gabriel Martinelli, who came off the bench to score twice in a minute in injury time.

"Of course, I'm so happy for Martinelli, to come off the bench and score twice to help the team. I think if he'd have had one more minute, he would have scored three goals!"
