Arsenal set to make millions on deadline day from two players who don't even play for club

Arsenal are expected to bank £10 million on deadline day thanks to sell-on clauses, as Brooke Norton-Cuffy and Folorin Balogun look set to complete last-minute transfers.

Norton-Cuffy, who left Arsenal for Serie A side Genoa in 2024 for a reported £1.7 million, is on the verge of joining newly-promoted Hull City in a deal worth €14 million (£11.9m).

As a result, the Gunners will receive around £2.3 million after they inserted a 20 per cent sell-on clause in the deal to sell Norton-Cuffy to Genoa.

It has been a busy summer of outgoings at Arsenal, and it appears they will receive another sizeable sum on Tuesday, when former striker Folarin Balogun joins Everton from Monaco for £38.5 million.

As well as offloading Balogun to the Ligue 1 side in 2023 for a reported £34 million, they included a 20 per cent sell-on clause in the deal, meaning they will bank around £7.7m if the move goes through.

A host of first-team players have left the North London club in recent weeks, including Christian Norgaard, Jakub Kiwior, Leandro Trossard and Reiss Nelson, who left by mutual consent.

In terms of incomings, Mikel Arteta's side have spent close to £200 million on transfers this summer, with Bruno Guimaraes, Christos Tzolis, Piero Hincapie and Ezri Konsa all arriving for significant fees.

However, it appears Arsenal will recoup some of that cash in the final hours of the window.

Arsenal to make hefty amount on deadline day as duo set to leave

On Tuesday, they confirmed the departure of Fabio Vieira, who has joined Bundesliga side Hamburg in a deal worth £7.7 million.

Gabriel Martinelli, meanwhile, is on the verge of leaving. The 25-year-old, who has scored 62 goals in 278 appearances for Arsenal, is close to joining Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal for around €65 million (£55.7m).

If the deal goes through, Arsenal will earn a club-record fee for a player sale, surpassing the £35 million they received from Liverpool for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer of 2017.

Gabriel Jesus is also expected to follow Martinelli out the door. The Brazilian, who has struggled for regular minutes over the past couple of seasons, is close to joining Barcelona for around £8.5 million plus add-ons.

The 29-year-old will sign a two-year deal at Barca, according to Fabrizio Romano, who claims Arsenal 'authorised' his travel on Monday. In total, Jesus has notched 32 goals and 22 assists in 123 appearances for the North London club.
