Fans have blasted Arsenal following their bitter social media reaction to Manchester United's FA Cup victory.

United stunned rivals Manchester City at Wembley to claim their second trophy in successive seasons under manager Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils' courageous performance is one we've seen little of this season but it was more than enough on the day to overcome a lacklustre City side.

A shocker at the back allowed Alejandro Garnacho to roll the ball into an empty net before midfield sensation Kobbie Mainoo converted a well-worked chance to double their lead before the break.

City got one back through Jeremy Doku just before full-time but it wasn't enough.

The win saw United lift their 13th FA Cup, but they still remain one short of record holders Arsenal in the competition.

Following the game, the Gunners were quick to remind everyone on social media that they're the team who has lifted the prestigious cup the most.

A post on X directed fans to a quiz about Arsenal's winners in the competition since 2000 and it didn't go down well with fans.

We have a legacy in the FA Cup like no other team having lifted the trophy a record 14 times 🏆

One fan told the club to "have some shame" with another branding the post 'embarrassing.

There's a long history of rivalry between United and Arsenal that was particularly heated during the reigns of legendary managers Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.

The two sides also contested the FA Cup final in 2005 a tight contest that was eventually won on penalties by Arsenal.

Trophies have been hard to come by for both sides in recent years though with the Gunners' last trophy coming four years ago also in the FA Cup.

It means that despite being manager of United for just two seasons, Ten Hag has now picked up more silverware than Mikel Arteta.

Fans were quick to remind Arsenal in the replies to their post that it's been a while since they've lifted anything, with one saying "Congrats to Arsenal for winning the 'we have lifted the FA Cup 14 times' trophy this season."
