Arsenal fans are adamant that Kai Havertz is going to win them the Champions League this season after doing the maths.

The Gunners finished top of their European qualifying group, meaning they will face Porto in the round of 16.

After taking a closer look at the draw, supporters reckon Havertz is going to lead the club to Champions League glory.

That is because Chelsea had a similar path to lifting the iconic trophy in 2021, when Havertz scored the winning goal against Manchester City.

Indeed, the Blues beat Porto 2-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals that year, with Arsenal fans digging up further similarities between their run this season and Chelsea's winning European campaign.

Taking to Twitter, fans created a thread of conspiracies that Havertz will be the key to the Gunners' success.

One user tweeted: "20/21 - Havertz club draws 1-1 in the last CL group match. 23/24 - Havertz club draws 1-1 in the last CL group match."

While another wrote: "20/21 - Havertz club secures CL top spot in their fifth group match. 23/24 - Havertz club secures CL top spot in their fifth group match."

A fourth chimed in: "20/21 - Havertz knocked out by a London club in the Carabao Cup fourth round. 23/24 - Havertz knocked out by a London club in the Carabao Cup fourth round."

Finally, a fifth reply read: "20/21 - Arsenal win Community Shield - Spurs top of the league ten games in - Havertz first season at a club wins CL."

Havertz hasn't had the easiest start to life in north London, regularly coming under fire for his performances in an Arsenal shirt.

However, goals against Brentford in the league and Lens in the Champions saw the 24-year-old win November's Player of the Month award.

Speaking after his performance against Brighton on the weekend, Mikel Arteta waxed lyrical about the player.

"His confidence is growing and he feels more secure on the field," the Spaniard said.

"It’s four [goals] in seven games now. Overall, his performances, the intelligence he shows on the pitch, the aggression, how he works defensively, it’s top. Really good."
