Jamaal Lascelles hits out at 'unacceptable' conduct from Arsenal player, it was disgraceful

Jamaal Lascelles wasn't happy with the conduct of an Arsenal player.

Jamaal Lascelles has hit out after he was snubbed of a handshake following Newcastle United's controversial victory over Arsenal.

Newcastle beat Arsenal 1-0 last Saturday as Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game.

The goal was subject to a contentious VAR check as Gordon's strike was allowed to stand because of a 'loophole'.

Mikel Arteta fumed at the decision to allow the goal as he gave a furious post-match interview.

Newcastle captain Lascelles was also left unhappy following the final whistle as he took aim at Jorginho's 'unacceptable' conduct after the fiery fixture.

He slammed the Italian midfielder for failing to shake his hand after the match as he claimed he would never refuse to shake an opposition captain's hand.

Pictures show the defender extending his hand to the Arsenal player, who can be seen walking away from the exchange.

"Jorginho didn’t want to shake hands after the game," he revealed. "Whatever happens on the pitch - handbags or whatever - you show sportsmanship and shake hands.

“He didn’t do that, so I’m so glad we beat them. Players like that, I don’t think it’s acceptable.

“A lot of them walked in at the end."

Lascelles added: "I went up to shake Jorginho’s hand but he didn’t want to! I was fuming, it’s not on.

"I would never refuse to shake an opposition captain’s hand, no way."

Asked if he thought the Magpies had recorded a statement win, Lascelles replied: "Yeah and especially with how they go on as well."

Newcastle inflict Arsenal with their first league defeat of the season as Eddie Howe's team occupy sixth place in the table, four points behind Mikel Arteta's side, who have 24 points on the board.
