Al Hilal brutally mock Lionel Messi during friendly clash against Inter Miami

Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami are taking on Saudi Professional League side Al Hilal.

Al Hilal brutally mocked Lionel Messi during their friendly clash against Inter Miami.

On Monday evening, Al Hilal hosted MLS side Inter Miami for the Riyadh Season Cup 2024.

The friendly clash is a pre-season fixture for Messi and his side ahead of the 2024 MLS season.

Meanwhile, the match is a mid-season fixture for Al Hilal as the Saudi Professional League is currently on a break.

The Saudi Arabian side got off to a great start as former Premier League star Aleksandar Mitrovic gave the hosts the lead with just 10 minutes on the clock.

Al Hilal’s lead was doubled just three minutes later thanks to a goal by Abdullah Al Hamdan.

Luis Suarez then halved the deficit by netting in the 37th minute.

However, just before half-time, Al Hilal restored their two-goal advantage as Michael scored in the 44th minute.

Taking on social media, Al Hilal brutally mocked Messi by posting a picture of the Argentine on the floor after a challenge by Ruben Neves.

The account wrote: “It's okay Leo.. you're not the first. #RollsRuben.”

The Saudi Professional League have managed to attract some huge names after first luring Cristiano Ronaldo to Al Nassr back in January 2023.

During the summer transfer window, the likes of Karim Benzema, Fabinho, Neymar, Riyad Mahrez and Roberto Firmino all moved to the Middle East.

However, not every player is able to adapt to their new surrounding as former Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson, decided to leave Al Ettifaq after just six months.

After joining Dutch side Ajax, the Englishman said: I’m sad to say that I will be leaving Al Ettifaq with immediate effect. It wasn’t an easy decision but one that I feel is best for me and my family.

"I want to take this opportunity to thank the club & the fans for all the support during my time. I really felt the love from Day One.

"I’ll keep watching & hoping for your success. Good luck for the future."
