Inter Miami already have some of the biggest names in world football at their disposal.
They can call upon Argentina and Barcelona legend Lionel Messi, as well as the likes of former Liverpool star Luis Suárez, Spain icon Sergio Busquets, and Rodrigo De Paul, who is currently on loan from La Liga giants Athletico Madrid.
Their star-studded squad has helped Inter Miami to the MLS Cup final on Saturday, where they will face Vancouver in a mouth-watering one-off match.
Messi has scored 29 goals and produced 20 assists in just 28 appearances in the MLS during the 2025 campaign.

Those stats meant he finished the season as the division’s top scorer and top assist maker, but now Inter Miami could be looking to bolster their attacking options once again.

Spanish outlet Fichajes and sports journalist Florian Plettenberg have both reported that the MLS club could be in the running to sign former Chelsea and Tottenham forward Timo Werner.
“According to journalist Florian Plettenberg, meetings between the player's representatives and Inter Miami 's management have shaped a very specific scenario,” claimed their report.

“The American club wants to bolster its attack with a player possessing speed, unpredictability, and international experience, and Werner fits that plan perfectly
“The Florida team, currently undergoing a rebuild in its offensive line, views the German's arrival as a strategic move, especially given the potential departure of several veterans who have been key players in the last cycle.”

The German international struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League after joining Chelsea in the summer of 2020, returning to RB Leipzig in August 2022.

He went to Tottenham on loan in January 2024, remaining in North London until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
Werner has only made one appearance for Leipzig since returning to Germany.
Leipzig have enjoyed a sensational start to the season despite the striker’s absence, and currently sit in second place in the Bundesliga table.
However, they are still eight points behind defending champions Bayern Munich.
