The transfer saga of Luka Modric continues, with it now reported that the veteran midfielder asked Real Madrid for a pay-raise, following reports linking him with a move away.
Real Madrid are facing a period of uncertainty. Cristiano Ronaldo headed out the exit and signed up with Juventus in a deal reported to be worth £100m. This came after Zinedine Zidane, who had won three Champions League with the side, unexpectedly decided to leave the club over the summer, saying that it was the right time to do so.
Modric helped Croatia reach the final of the World Cup, knocking out England in the semifinal of the competition.

And now they're facing bigger issues. An article from Cadenaser has suggested that the World Cup star demanded a pay-raise or he would leave. The piece is translated reads: "The desire of the Croatian midfielder, Golden Ball of the last World Cup, is either to increase the salary in Madrid or go to Inter Milan. But the position of Real Madrid is very clear. If you want to leave you will have to pay your termination clause, which amounts to 750 million euros."
