Tottenham Hotspur defender Juan Foyth has emerged as a shock transfer target for Barcelona despite only playing 7 games this season.

Foyth was signed from Argentinian side Estudiantes by previous manager and fellow countryman Mauricio Pochettino in 2017.

The arrival of Jose Mourinho has seen his game time lessen and Mundo Deportivo have reported he could be in line for a switch to the Nou Camp.

Mourinho blocked a move away from North London in January but the 22-year-old hasn't featured in a Premier League squad in 2020.

The 22-year-old has expressed frustration at his lack of action at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and he may look to move on in the summer.

"You always want to play to feel like a player and feel good," the defender told TNT per Sport Witness last month.

"It isn't easy not to play either. But I don't know, we have to wait now for the transfer window to open. If I am going to have opportunities here, I will be very comfortable.

"And if they won't count on me, the best thing will be to find another club.

"I would like to stay in Europe, all leagues have a high level. My wish is to play at the highest level as long as I can. The main thing is to play."

Barcelona have been linked with a variety of players this year but one man who seems destined for Spain is Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanic.

Barca have been keen to sign the Juventus midfielder in the past but now look to have got their man.

Pjanic has spent four years at Juventus and made 167 appearances for the club but he's reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the La Liga outfit.

The Bosnian reportedly turned down advances from Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain in the hopes of moving to Barca.

United had been linked with a transfer for the Bosnian international with Paul Pogba potentially moving the other way.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to continue reinforcing his midfield after the signing of Bruno Fernandes in January.

French champions PSG have also shown an interest in Pjanic but Barcelona reportedly have a verbal agreement in place with the former Roma man.
