Fans ask if 'this is allowed' just seconds into Tottenham vs Arsenal game

Fans immediately noticed something as the North London derby kicked off.

Fans online asked if 'this is allowed' just seconds into the crunch Premier League clash between Tottenham and Arsenal.

Arsenal have travelled to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium as they look to increase their lead at the top of the table.

Despite being the visiting team, the Gunners are wearing their traditional red home kit.

But Mikel Arteta's team are wearing white shorts - the same as their hosts.

Both teams wearing white shorts was spotted by people on social media as they questioned the shorts clashing.

One X user wrote: "Both got white shorts on here. Is this allowed?"

A second tweeted: "Why are Arsenal being permitted to wear white shorts against Spurs who are wearing all white. I thought there was a rule about colours needed to be different?"

A third added: "How are Arsenal allowed to wear white shorts."

A fourth questioned: "How come they’re wearing their home kit with white shorts clashing?"

Another commented: "How come Arsenal and Tottenham can both wear white shorts? Don’t they normally make one team change?!"

For the reverse fixture at the Emirates that took place last September, Spurs wore blue shorts and blue socks while Arsenal wore white shorts.

Arsenal also wore white shorts at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last season, but only because Spurs sported blue shorts.
