Study Reveals The Most Expensive Transfers Of All Time After Inflation

Study Reveals The Most Expensive Transfers Of All Time After Inflation

Ronaldo Nazario has been revealed as the most expensive footballer of all time after inflation - with the Brazilian costing a staggering £380 million.

'R9' cost Inter Milan £25 million when he joined from Barcelona in 1997 but the figure would be astronomically higher in the modern market.

£25 million was a world record fee at the time and it came after Ronaldo ripped up La Liga in his sole season at the Nou Camp.

The list is surprisingly made up of Serie A transfers more than any other league.

Second place belongs to Diego Maradona after his transfer to Napoli, where he arguably cemented his legendary status.

He became a legendary figure in Naples and it was clear to see from his unveiling.

Neymar's world record transfer from Barcelona to PSG in 2017 is the most recent transfer featured on this list.

But the top spot deservedly belongs to his international counterpart Ronaldo.

The Brazilian forward could do it all. From dribbling at high speeds to providing his teammates with an inch perfect pass, 'El Fenomeno' was a 'once in a lifetime' footballer.

Unfortunately for the starlet, he suffered a variety of serious knee injuries in what many would consider a footballers prime years.

It would arguably stop him from fulfilling his true potential, but he still managed to make his mark on football history.
