Manchester United youngster Facundo Pellistri has been praised for a coming of age performance on loan at Deportivo Alaves vs Atletico Madrid.

Pellistri arrived at United from Uruguayan outfit Penarol in the summer and joined up with Alaves in January.

The 19-year-old is regarded as a top talent and managed to stand out against one of Spain's best teams on Sunday.

Atletico won the game 1-0 thanks to a Luis Suarez strike but all eyes were on Pellistri.

Despite Atletico's reputation for being robust at the back, it didn't faze the winger who was keen to take men on.

Pellistri always looked comfortable in possession and had no trouble with firing at goal when required.

Alaves only had 38% possession in the game so it's a testament to Pellistri's skill that he managed to stand out.

Right wing has been a problem position at United for some time and this season has seen them play Mason Greenwood and Daniel James there.

Pellistri's emergence has excited Red Devils fans and they believe he, alongside Amad Diallo, could be the future of that position.

The youngster's performance came around the same time United were in action against Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Greenwood started on the right wing in that game and managed to get on the scoresheet.

But Kelechi Iheanacho struck twice either side of Youri Tielemans' drive to secure a 3-1 win and a place in the semi-finals.

The Foxes will take on Southampton for a place in the final against one of Manchester City or Chelsea.
