Sadio Mane has revealed that he already has friends with Liverpool new boy Naby Keita.

The midfielder was signed by the Reds last summer but was loaned out to his former club RB Leipzig for a season before making the switch to Merseyside.

With the Reds in the Champions League final, facing off against Real Madrid in Kiev, Ukraine, Mane was quizzed by reporters about the new signing, and whether Kieta will be making an appearance at the final, in stands.

"I don't think he will come to the final, but of course he will watch the game. I am always texting him," Mane told the Telegraph.

"He is my good friend. He said after we reached the final, 'congratulations, I am looking forward to coming [to Liverpool].'"

"He will do great. He is a great player and he will do very well."

Keita is a box-to-box midfielder whose strengths lie in his dribbling, passing and strength. He is a welcome additional to a squad already brimming with talent. Liverpool strengthened their defence since January but there's still the feeling that they could do with solidifying the back line still further.

No one would've guessed that Liverpool would've made it to the Champions League final. Their attacking trio have run riot all across Europe. But a contest against Real is going to be their biggest test yet. If they win, it'll be their sixth European Cup.

The addition of Kieta should prove a fruitful one. Next season, with the Reds having the Guinean in their squad, they appear like stronger outfit.

The question will be if they can emulate what they've achieved this season, and push on in the league, past just a fourth-place finish, where they've finished for consecutive seasons.
