At 7:45am this morning, radio listeners will have likely woken up to Gerry & The Pacemakers' 1963 classic which has become synonymous with Liverpool Football Club.

Many fans across social media reacted to the touch and they all agreed it was a spine-tingling moment.
Liverpool chipped in with a rendition of the anthem from their Anfield crowd during a game.
Other clubs also tweeted their support for the cause including German side Borussia Monchengladbach who played the song in an empty Borussia-Park.
