Manchester United midfielder Fred avoided a red card against Paris Saint-Germain despite 'headbutting' Leandro Paredes.

United welcomed the French champions to Old Trafford knowing a point would see them advance from Group H.

But the two groups of players came together midway through the first half and Fred moved his head towards Paredes', who then went down.

Referee Daniele Orsato did consult VAR on the altercation, but only saw it fit to award the midfielder a yellow card.

Fans have reacted to the decision and they can't believe Fred hasn't been given his marching orders.

PSG took the lead inside six minutes through Neymar, with the Brazilian firing past David de Gea with a drilled effort.

Thomas Tuchel's side have looked in control throughout and have managed to stifle United going forward.

But United managed to equalise through Marcus Rashford, via a huge deflection off Danilo Pereira.

Do you think Fred was lucky to avoid a red card?
