Fred Avoids Red Card After 'Headbutt' On Leandro Paredes During Man Utd Vs PSG

Manchester United midfielder Fred avoided a red card against Paris Saint-Germain despite 'headbutting' Leandro Paredes.
United welcomed the French champions to Old Trafford knowing a point would see them advance from Group H.
But the two groups of players came together midway through the first half and Fred moved his head towards Paredes', who then went down.
Referee Daniele Orsato did consult VAR on the altercation, but only saw it fit to award the midfielder a yellow card.
It looks as though Fred is a very lucky boy :eyes:
He appeared to move his head towards Paredes off the ball, the referee took a closer look, and have a yellow card :warning:
Already down a goal, that was a close call for Man Utd... pic.twitter.com/uT07YhxPvX

Fans have reacted to the decision and they can't believe Fred hasn't been given his marching orders.
Blimey. Ref said Fred will only get a yellow.

Fred is exceptionally lucky there after being exceptionally silly

How is that a yellow card for Fred when it was a red for Pépé? I actually agree with the decision (hardly a headbutt), but the inconsistency is laughable!

OH MY GOD! I've literally never seen that before. The referee has gone over the monitor, saw Fred butt someone, and then gave him a yellow. #UCL

How's Fred still on the pitch? Horrendous decision. Paredes has made a meal of it (as any player would), but there's no doubt Fred has nutted him :joy: madness. #MNUPSG

PSG took the lead inside six minutes through Neymar, with the Brazilian firing past David de Gea with a drilled effort.
Thomas Tuchel's side have looked in control throughout and have managed to stifle United going forward.
But United managed to equalise through Marcus Rashford, via a huge deflection off Danilo Pereira.
Do you think Fred was lucky to avoid a red card?
