The entire Leicester City squad are set to fly to Thailand for Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha's Funeral.

Leicester resume their Premier League campaign this weekend by playing Cardiff City and following the away fixture, the squad is to fly to Thailand to pay their respects.

Great gesture.

Meanwhile, Foxes vice-chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha is back in the city and plans to speak with chief executive Susan Whelan about the way that the club will commemorate his father's legacy.

The 33-year-old will also succeed his father as chairman on an interim basis, ESPN's sources confirmed.

Senior members at the King Power International Group, including Aiyawatt, are open to the idea of the King Power Stadium becoming the 'Khun Vichai Stadium.'

"What is important now is to give the Srivaddhanaprabha, King Power and Leicester City family time to grieve," a King Power spokesperson said. "In due course we will release memorial details and are touched by the public outpouring of support and condolences.

"The King Power Stadium is already a celebration of Khun Vichai's successful business and we would be open, with family, club and supporter consultation, to discussing a name change in Khun Vichai's honour.

"We are aware of petitions seeking this type of change as well as for a statue at the club and will discuss all these wishes with the Srivaddhanaprabha family and the football club."

The Foxes will be moving forward with plans for a new $100m training facility, which will have 500 seats, 12 training pitches and will bear Vichai's name.

SPORTbible reported yesterday that a fan-made petition had surfaced online, which called for the stadium to be named after Leicester's fallen owner.

Stefan Guillou, who created the petition on Change.org, told SPORTbible: "Well, I moved to Leicester a few years ago, just before they got promoted, the buzz around the city when they did was immense.

"The love towards the owners was strange for me, as a Manchester United fan, I can honestly say I don't have much admiration for the Glazers."

"In a world where the Glazers and the likes of Mike Ashley bleed a club for all they're worth and then some, it's refreshing to see a man who not only invested in the club, pay[s] off the debt but also invested in the city and the supporters of the club.

"Without this man, Leicester would likely have never won the Premier League, they wouldn't be one of the friendliest clubs around; banter aside, I never really get any grief from any Leicester supporters when I'm bobbing around in my United shirt and I believe that's down to the atmosphere and family that has been created within this football club.

"Renaming the club in his honour would be a fitting way to thank this man for bringing life back into Leicester City FC."

Leicester City announced that Srivaddhanaprabha had passed away on Sunday night, along with news that none of the other four people on board the helicopter had survived.

Leicestershire Police named two members of Srivaddhanaprabha's staff -- Nursara Suknamai and Kaveporn Punpare -- pilot Eric Swaffer and passenger Izabela Roza Lechowicz as those who have also lost their lives.
